About

Designer by profession, artist at heart.

I’m Ashik Masud, a Senior Product Designer at SourceEazy in Dhaka. For 19 years I have shaped digital products, and for even longer I have chased light with a camera, melodies on stage and finish lines on the road.

My story

“I make complicated business software feel simple to use.”

My journey began in 2003, hand-coding websites at ISN (Bangla.net) when the web in Bangladesh was still young. From there I grew through D.Net, Arena and QuantumCloud as a web developer, graphic designer and web designer, and learned that good design is as much about care as it is about craft.

For ten years I was Lead UX Designer at BJIT, designing for clients in Japan, the United States, Europe and the Middle East. Pocketalk Ventana and OPENPOST Japan are two of the projects I am proudest of. Today at SourceEazy I lead product design for a supply chain and B2B commerce platform, side by side with product managers and engineers.

Along the way I founded Dotsense, a web design and development company and my dream project. Whatever I work on, my aim stays the same: to make complicated things feel simple, calm and human.

At BJIT

Ten years with world-class clients.

In 2015 I joined BJIT as Lead UX Designer. Over the next ten years I designed for renowned companies and long-term partners around the world: Sony Group, Panasonic, NTT Data Group, Qualcomm, Fujisoft, Toshiba, Kyocera Communication Systems, Sourcenext Corporation, IBM Japan and Valmet, a partnership of more than twelve years.

My work reached teams in Tokyo, the United States and across Europe, in Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands. Every culture asked for something a little different, and together they taught me to work with care and precision, and with respect for every user.

The projects I remember most are Gonzo OpenPost, OPENPOST AJA, GCC Mealkun, Pocketalk Ventana and a large enterprise ERP. Each one began as a complicated problem and ended as something that felt simple to use.

Beyond the screen

A creative mind, in every form.

Creativity has always been my way of seeing the world, and it started early. As a boy I was a scout with Agrodoot Mukto Dol, and at Phulkuri Ashar I was named Best Rising Phulkuri in 1992 and Best Phulkuri in 1993. Those years gave me teamwork, discipline and a love for serving others.

Music came next. I was the lead vocalist of the band Silvan and sang at many concerts, and some of our songs still live on YouTube. I play several instruments, including the guitar, and I am a member of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi.

Photography taught me to slow down. I am a documentary photographer, a photographer at Through The Lens: Bangladesh (TTL) and a listed photographer of Light & Composition. Over the years my photographs have been part of exhibitions, photography communities and interviews, and the camera still teaches me to notice light, people and quiet moments.

And when I need a clear mind, I run. I am a long-distance runner and take part in many running events across Dhaka. Running, like design, is honest: you reach the finish line one steady step at a time.

Thank you for stopping by. Let’s make something simple and beautiful together.
