01.Overview

Children sitting in a circle on the grass, raising their hands with a coach

Motivation of the project

FitLab is a wellness app for children in Dubai, promoting fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being through fun, culturally tailored activities. It helps kids build healthy habits and empowers them to lead happier lives from an early age.

Two sidesof one product

Children use the FitLab app to log what they eat and drink, how they move and how they sleep. Everything they log lands here, in the dashboard, where admins and health specialists follow progress and guide each child.

02.Dashboard tour

Every section, one click away

The sidebar holds the whole product: Dashboard, Foods, Exercise, Students, Suggestion, Survey, Reports and Settings. Pick a section to see its screen.

Dashboard. Four headline numbers on top and the full student table below, so an admin sees the big picture and the detail on one screen.

03.Layout system

Learn one page, and you know them all.

Every list in the dashboard is built from the same parts, in the same places. A title tells you what you are looking at and how much of it there is: “21 New Students this month”, “205 Foods Total in list”, “6 Total Survey”.

  1. Top barMenu, global search, quick links to Dashboard, Students and Report, notifications and the signed-in admin.
  2. SidebarEvery section with an icon; open sections expand to show their pages.
  3. Title and countWhat the page is, plus a live count in blue.
  4. Search and actionsSearch by name, ID or gender, one primary action, and an advanced filter.
  5. Sortable tableSortable columns, row selection, a progress bar per student, and pagination.

04.Dashboard home

The big picture first

The home screen opens on four numbers, each with its own time window, so an admin can tell at a glance how the group is doing before reading a single row.

Advanced filter

Narrow the student list by the numbers that matter for a child’s health: calories in, weight, gender, age and calories burnt. Try it.

Progress bars run from red to green, so the students who need attention stand out in a long table.

05.Students

From the table to the child

Student list

Each row shows a student’s ID, name, progress, age, gender, height, weight, calories in, water and calories burnt. Rows can be ticked for bulk actions, and “Details” opens the profile.

Student profile

The profile holds the student’s name, email, gender, age, height, weight and phone number. Below it, an activity table lists every day’s weight, calories, carbs, protein, fat and water intake, with calories burnt.

Admins can update the profile or send this student a suggestion directly from here.

06.Suggestions

Advice in three steps

Suggestions are how specialists reach children through the app. The flow starts where the admin already is, in the student table.

  1. 1

    Select students

Tick the students in the table and press Send Suggestion.

  2. 2

    Write or reuse

Recipients appear as removable chips. Write a new suggestion, or apply one of the 50 saved ones as it is or after editing.

  3. 3

    Add more recipients

Forgot someone? Add Student opens the student table in a dialog, without losing the message.

07.Foods

The food library behind every meal

Food list

The foods children log in the app come from this list. Each food has a unit (piece, cup, glass, pound, grams), calories per unit, carbs, protein and fat.

205 foods in the list, each one editable in place.

08.Surveys

Asking kids how they feel

Surveys collect what tracking can’t, like how a child rates their own health. Admins build questions in five types and read the answers as simple bars.

  • Yes/No
  • Single selection
  • Text
  • Checkbox

09.Reports

Select, then export

Reports use the same table as everything else. The Export Report button stays quiet until rows are selected, then turns solid blue.
